Neevia conversion server¶
Create a local admin account¶
The account will be used for the installation of the convertion server. Create dconverter using Administrative Tools -> Computer management plugin. It needs to belong to administrators group.
Amendment Finally using a Domain account: cdsconv as the local one has problems with network resources. Please replace appropiately. Amendment We are not running any more as a service as the converter has a timeout for the parsers of ~8.5 minutes, this can not be modified.
Software¶
Download it from https:\/\/neevia.com\/download\/index.asp . The actual version can be found at: \\cern.ch\dfs\Services\conversion\Software\Neevia\6.9 .
Run the dcpro.exe on a cmd.exe as user SERVER\dconverter.You need to make dfs accessible to the local user. To do so on a cmd.exe shell do:
C:\Users\dconverter\6.8>net use g: \\cern.ch\dfs /user:CERN\rgaspar
Enter the password for 'CERN\rgaspar' to connect to 'cern.ch':
The command completed successfully.

1. Run as admin: \\cern.ch\dfs\Services\conversion\Software\OCR\MODI\SharePointDesigner.exe
2. Review, and then accept the software license.
3. Click Customize to open the installation options.
4. On the Installation Options tab, click the down arrow and select Not Available for these three sections:
• Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer
• Office Shared Features
• Office Tools
5. Expand Office Tools.
6. Click the down arrow for the Microsoft Office Document Imaging option, and then select Run all from my computer.
7. Click Install Now, and then click Close.
MS office special configuration¶
To avoid problems with macros, please set at File -> Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings...
You may need to accept private signed macros which publisher is not recognized, for that a document with such a macro is required. This setting has been set into Word and Visio.
To avoid problems with old 2000-2002 binary drawing and stencils, please set at File -> Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings...
This has been done in Visio.
AutoCAD¶
The Autocad suite looks very unstable with Neevia giving this error after second document is sent:

One possible solution is to uninstall Autocad and install TrueView together with Design review + hotfix. Please find at \\cern.ch\dfs\Services\conversion\Software\AutocadDesigner the software required. Install:
- first TrueView
- then Design Review and hotfix.
In order to make it work with TrueView 2017, certain registry keys need to be modifed (find the .reg file at DFS):

Sadly Design review application is not supported anymore. Therefore it's preferable to keep AutoCad application. It looks like keeping 'Simultaneous Threads' setting at the parser to 1, makes the application interaction with Neevia somehow more stable:
