Neevia Specials¶
Using an special printer for better CMYK colors¶
From Neevia support
Open Devices and Printers delete all Neevia printers listed in there then click Add a printer -> install Konica Minolta pp5650 PS PPD (you can also use any HP color PS printer) and as printer port select File then rename the printer into Neevia Converter and set it as default printer. Restart DC Pro and try to convert a file.
htm to PDF¶
From Neevia support
For Win 7 apply these changes: log in with a local admin account (preferably the same local admin account dcStart runs under) open a command prompt type dcomcnfg.exe and navigate to Component Services > Computers > My Computer > Right-click > Properties > COM Security tab -> click on Edit Default for both Access Permissions and Launch and Activation Permissions, add the account dcStart uses and give it Local Access, Local Launch and Local Activation. Reboot the machine. Launch IE one time then close it. If you get popups provide the requested info.
If this still does not do it you can switch to a different html parser. You can use WebKit which is found here: : http://wkhtmltopdf.org/downloads.html (before installing do a right click and select Run as administrator). In the main DC Pro interface click Settings -> Advanced -> uncheck Folder-specific configuration -> go back to the main DC Pro interface -> click on the HTML parser in the bottom -> Advanced -> HTML rendering engine -> WebKit. Restart DC Pro.
In case you do not like the WebKit output download this html engine www.neevia.com/prods/setup/chromium.exe install it then restart DC Pro and in the main interface click Settings -> Advanced -> uncheck Folder specific configuration -> OK -> go back to the main interface click on the HTML parser in the bottom -> Advanced -> HTML rendering engine tab -> select Chromium -> OK.
png to PDF conversion. Use of MODI¶
MSFT stopped including MODI in Office starting with version 2007. You should also know that MODI is not that stable when it comes to using it via automation on a Win 2012 R2 server.
Here is how you can install it:
- Download and run the SharePointDesigner.exe file from this location: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=21581
- Review, and then accept the software license.
- Click Customize to open the installation options.
- On the Installation Options tab, click the down arrow and select Not Available for these three sections: • Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer • Office Shared Features • Office Tools
- Expand Office Tools.
- Click the down arrow for the Microsoft Office Document Imaging option, and then select Run all from my computer.
- Click Install Now, and then click Close.
Here is how to enable OCR (skip the steps that have to do with MODI) : https://neevia.com/blogs/post/How-to-OCR-Images-and-PDF-that-contain-Images-using-Document-Converter-Pro
AutoCAD¶
It may be the case that AutoCAD is not selected to convert DXF files. Instead Adobe Illustrator is selected. In order to change the association go to Settings -> FileAssociations and change "DXF - AutoCAD Interchange" to AUTOCAD instead of Illustrator.
After this go to AutoCAD Parser, at the main window of the converter and select 'Use AutoCAD native PDF export'.
